About

Welcome to the official website of the Friends of East Greenwich Pleasaunce (FEGP), a community group set up and run by local residents with the backing of Greenwich Council.

Its aim is to promote the use, enjoyment and enhancement of East Greenwich Pleasaunce – a small park with a big history.

Through our events and campaigning we hope to improve the fabric and ambience of the park and build a stronger, more engaged local community.

Click to subscribe to our newsletter, the Pleasaunce  Post, which we send out several times each year.

FEGP’s Committee was first voted in by residents at a public meeting on 20th March 2006. We now have over 500 members and nearly 300 households on our email distribution list.

We organise a range of events in the park, including our hugely successful annual Summer Festival, Trafalgar Day commemorations, Easter Egg hunts, and Christmas Carols with Santa. We also liaise closely with the council to ensure the park is well maintained, and campaign for improved facilities within the park.

Visit the site regularly for news about East Greenwich Pleasaunce and announcements of meetings and local events. And if you want to know more about the park’s fascinating history click on the ‘History link at the top of the page.

We’d also like to hear your views on how we can improve the park and the events we organise. And if you have any interesting stories concerning the Pleasaunce – relatives buried in the naval cemetery, perhaps – do get in touch. We’re also happy to consider posting your photos on the website, so please send them in.

Click here if you would like to know more about  becoming a Friend.  Have your say and find out how you can get more involved in your local community. We’re already making a big difference.
